SmallWorldBooksVeniceCrawlThursday, September 19th, 6-9pm–some of my art will be featured in the Small World Books Pop Up Gallery as part of the quarterly Venice Beach Art Crawl.   I have created limited edition mini reproductions in textiles of some of my larger much loved art quilts. Using a photograph of my completed art quilt, I printed the image onto fabric that I then stitched (by machine and by hand), creating a smaller version of it’s bigger Cousin.  Think photographic reproduction but better…as it is a stitched textile work of art.  They are ready for hanging with a sleeve pocket for a rod or they can be traditionally framed. The work will be on display (and for purchase) through mid-December.

It has been an interesting process, re-visiting previous work and creating new smaller versions.

Below are a few samples of what will be in the Small World Books Gallery:

13" x 10"

Postcard from Guatemala (mini reproduction), 13″ x 10″

Bedtime Stories (mini reproduction), 10" x 13"

Sherry, there seems to be no stopping you. Now all we have to do is get you entered in some East coast shows to get you out here. MOm is feeling somewhat better this morning after her pain block needles in her nerves around her spine. But it will take a few days for her to know for sure how much better off she is. So lets hope for the best. Jeff
